Weathernews reports strong Q2, plans stock split and commemorative dividend

Weathernews Inc. (TSE:4825) announced consolidated financial results for the second quarter ended November 30, 2025, revealing a 4.5% increase in net sales to JPY 12,133 million and a substantial 35.3% rise in operating profit to JPY 2,268 million. Ordinary profit climbed by 43.3% to JPY 2,324 million, with net profit attributable to owners of parent up 44.4% to JPY 1,638 million. The company projects full-year net sales of JPY 25,000 million and operating profit of JPY 5,000 million for the fiscal year ending May 31, 2026.

In conjunction with its strong performance and upcoming 40th anniversary, Weathernews will implement a 1-for-2 stock split, effective March 1, 2026, aiming to enhance liquidity and expand its investor base. The company also announced a revision to its dividend forecast for the fiscal year ending May 2026, including a commemorative dividend.

The revised year-end dividend includes an ordinary dividend of JPY 22.50 (post-split basis) and an undecided commemorative dividend, targeting a 100% consolidated payout ratio. Shareholders of record on May 31 and November 30 holding 200 shares (post-split) will also receive access to "Weathernews Pro" paid content.
