TBS Holdings director resigns over improper expense claims

Tokyo Broadcasting System Holdings, Inc. announced today the resignation of Shigetoshi Ida, its managing director, effective December 25, 2025. The resignation follows an internal tip-off in early December 2025 regarding improper expense claims made by Ida. An investigation, conducted with the assistance of external experts, confirmed that Ida had submitted expense claims for entertainment and goodwill purposes with company group executives and employees, but had falsely reported them as meetings with external parties. The reported amounts were subsequently disbursed to him.

Ida acknowledged the facts, recognizing the gravity of his actions, especially given his role as the director responsible for compliance. He has expressed his intention to repay the improperly claimed expenses retroactively and voluntarily offered his resignation as a director.

TBS Holdings expressed its sincere apologies to all stakeholders for this breach of trust, stating that such actions are unacceptable. The company affirmed its commitment to preventing recurrence and strengthening corporate governance moving forward. The announcement was made by Ryujiro Abe, representative director and president.
