Sumitomo Rubber Industries names new president and chairman

Sumitomo Rubber Industries announced today, December 25, 2025, a planned change in its representative directors, effective March 26, 2026. This decision is subject to formalization at the ordinary general meeting of shareholders and Board of Directors meeting scheduled for March 26, 2026.

Under the new structure, Yasunori Kuniyasu will assume the role of representative director and president. Currently, Mr. Kuniyasu serves as a director and senior managing executive officer. Concurrently, the current representative director and president, Satoru Yamamoto, will transition to the position of representative director and chairman. This leadership reshuffle is part of a new executive management structure effective from March 26, 2026, onwards.

Yasunori Kuniyasu, born September 4, 1969, joined the company in April 1992. His career includes leadership roles as general manager of the fourth technology department, tire technology division (January 2015), general manager of tire quality assurance and head of tire quality management office (December 2020), and executive officer and general manager of the tire technology division (January 2021). He became a managing executive officer in January 2022 and director and senior managing executive officer in March 2023. As of June 30, 2025, Mr. Kuniyasu holds 8,400 shares in the company.
