Toho injects £16m into UK subsidiary to expand European footprint

Toho Co., Ltd. announced that its consolidated subsidiary, TOHO Global Inc., resolved to increase the capital of TOHO THEATRICALS UK LIMITED (TOHO UK) by £16 million. This capital injection is scheduled for completion by December 31, 2025.

The increase will result in TOHO UK becoming a Specified Subsidiary, as its capital will exceed 10% of Toho's capital. TOHO UK, established on April 2, 2024, with current capital of £2.6 million, is set to become Toho's European regional headquarters, focusing on venture capital, performing arts support, and artistic creation.

The funds from this capital increase will be used for acquiring operating companies and as working capital for business operations. TOHO UK's recent financial disclosures for February 2025 show net assets of £3.8 million, total assets of £3.9 million, and net income of £1.2 million. TOHO Global Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Toho established on July 20, 2023, oversees Toho's international business, including anime and live-action distribution. Toho anticipates a minor impact on its consolidated operating results from this change.
