Warabeya Nichiyo Holdings to split food production business into regional units

Warabeya Nichiyo Holdings Co., Ltd. announced a strategic reorganization of its domestic food production business, effective March 1, 2026. The company will establish three new wholly-owned subsidiaries: Warabeya Hokkaido Co., Ltd., Warabeya Chubu Co., Ltd., and Warabeya Kansai Co., Ltd. These entities will serve as absorption-type split succeeding companies, with Koji Mori as representative director and president for all three. They will focus on the manufacturing and sales of cooked foods.

The reorganization involves an absorption-type company split where Warabeya Nichiyo Foods Co., Ltd. will transfer its regional manufacturing and sales operations. Warabeya Hokkaido will manage the Hokkaido region, Warabeya Chubu the Chubu region, and Warabeya Kansai will oversee the Kansai and Shikoku regions. Warabeya Nichiyo Foods will continue to manage the Tohoku and Kanto regions. This aims to enhance "local production for local consumption" and "regionally-focused product development."

As of February 28, 2025, the split-off domestic food production business reported net sales of 64,884 million yen and total assets and liabilities of 7,482 million yen. All three new subsidiaries will commence operations on December 1, 2025. Given that all parties involved are wholly-owned subsidiaries, Warabeya Nichiyo Holdings anticipates a minor impact on its consolidated financial results.
