Nittoku faces 562m yen loss from German arbitration ruling

Nittoku Corporation announced that a German arbitration tribunal ruled against it on November 14, 2025, ordering the company to pay damages to PRETTL GmbH Magnet-und Schaltertechnik. This ruling necessitates the recording of an extraordinary loss of JPY 562 million in the third quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2026.

The company initially assessed the likelihood of incurring losses from this arbitration to be low. Despite the special loss, Nittoku confirmed that its consolidated and non-consolidated earnings forecasts for the full fiscal year ending March 2026, announced on November 14, 2025, remain unchanged. This is due to plans to offset the loss through measures such as the sale of marketable securities.

Details of the arbitration process remain confidential under Article 44 of the DIS Rules of the German Arbitration Institute. The delay in disclosure was attributed to the time required to confirm the arbitration content and disclosure matters with German legal counsel.
