TEPCO secures additional NDF funds for Fukushima nuclear damages

Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) today announced it received JPY 10.9 billion in grants from the Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Corporation (NDF). This funding, approved on March 17, 2025, aligns with the Special Business Plan and marks the 163rd request for financial assistance.

TEPCO has previously received a total of JPY 188.9 billion in indemnity payments and JPY 11 trillion 442.5 billion in grants from the NDF. The latest grant was requested as the compensation projected to be paid by December 2025 was anticipated to exceed these cumulative amounts. TEPCO states it is committed to continuing compensation efforts with understanding and compassion for all affected individuals, leveraging this financial support.
