SoftBank completes acquisition of Ampere Computing Holdings

SoftBank Group Corp. (SBG) announced the completion of its acquisition of Ampere Computing Holdings LLC ("Ampere") on November 25, 2025 (U.S. time). The U.S.-based semiconductor design company was acquired through SBG’s subsidiary, Silver Bands 6 (US) Corp., making Ampere a wholly owned subsidiary.

Ampere's financial position and operational results will be included in SBG’s consolidated financial statements from the acquisition date. The impact of the transaction on SBG's consolidated financial results is currently under review, with future disclosures to be made promptly.

Ampere Computing Holdings LLC, founded on September 27, 2017, is headquartered in Santa Clara, California, U.S.A. The company specializes in semiconductor design, focusing on high-performance, energy-efficient, and sustainable AI compute based on the ARM compute platform. Renée J. James serves as its founder, chairman, and chief executive.

This acquisition follows an earlier announcement made on March 20, 2025, regarding SBG’s intent to acquire Ampere. The finalized transaction expands SoftBank’s presence in the semiconductor sector.
