Odakyu Electric Railway sees strong October performance, hotel occupancy soars

Odakyu Electric Railway announced its preliminary monthly business performance for October 2025, showing positive trends in railway, department store, and hotel operations. Total railway passenger numbers, including both commuters and non-commuters, reached 61,415 thousand in October, marking a 1.5% increase year-over-year. Commuter revenue for the month stood at JPY 3,712 million, up 1.1% from the previous year, while non-commuter revenue was JPY 6,276 million, a 2.5% increase.

The Odakyu Department Store reported total sales of JPY 5,271 million in October, a 0.8% increase compared to the previous year, driven by a 3.4% rise in the Machida store's sales to JPY 2,420 million. Conversely, the Shinjuku store experienced a 2.1% decrease, with sales of JPY 2,413 million. Odakyu Shoji’s store division saw existing store sales grow by 2.7% year-over-year to JPY 4,391 million, with all stores combined achieving JPY 4,884 million.

Hotel operations demonstrated significant strength, particularly in occupancy rates. Hotel Century Southern Tower in Shinjuku recorded a 91.9% occupancy rate in October. In Hakone, Hotel de Yama reached 90.4% occupancy, and Hakone Yutowa achieved 91.9%. HOTEL CLAD also posted an 85.4% occupancy rate for the month. These figures underscore broad-based recovery and growth across Odakyu’s diverse business segments.
