Daiichi Sankyo updates FY2025 outlook, raises dividend

Daiichi Sankyo announced consolidated financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2026, with revenue increasing by JPY92.6 bn, or 10.5% year-on-year, to JPY975.4 bn. This growth was primarily attributed to global product sales like Enhertu and Datroway, despite a negative foreign exchange impact of JPY17.1 bn. Core operating profit, however, decreased by JPY8.0 bn (-4.8%) to JPY158.6 bn due to increased R&D investments in 5DXd ADCs and higher profit-sharing costs with AstraZeneca. Profit attributable to owners of the company saw a decrease of JPY15.9 bn (-10.8%) to JPY130.8 bn.

The company updated its full-year forecast for fiscal 2025, raising revenue by JPY100.0 bn to JPY2,100.0 bn, primarily due to favorable foreign exchange rates and strong Datroway and Enhertu sales in Japan and the U.S. Operating profit and profit before tax were revised downwards by JPY15.0 bn each to JPY335.0 bn and JPY355.0 bn, respectively, reflecting JPY18.5 bn in temporary expenses recorded in the second quarter. Full-year profit attributable to owners was consequently lowered by JPY12.0 bn to JPY288.0 bn.

Daiichi Sankyo remains committed to shareholder returns, forecasting an annual dividend of JPY78 per share for fiscal 2025, an increase of JPY18 from fiscal 2024. The company also announced a flexible share buyback program, acquiring JPY50.0 bn worth of shares between March 3 and April 8, 2025, and establishing an upper limit of JPY200.0 bn or 80 million shares for further acquisitions from May 1, 2025, to March 24, 2026.
