Oriental Land reports strong Q2 earnings, driven by park and hotel growth

Oriental Land reported consolidated net sales of 316,189 million yen for the second quarter of FY2026, a 6.4% increase year-over-year, with operating profit rising 8.0% to 68,241 million yen. The Theme Park segment saw net sales grow 5.4% to 251,777 million yen, primarily due to strong performance at Fantasy Springs and special events, as well as increased net sales per guest across all revenue categories. The Hotel Business segment recorded a significant 11.6% increase in net sales to 56,117 million yen and a 41.4% rise in operating profit to 17,505 million yen, reaching record highs, mainly driven by accommodation revenue from the full fiscal year operation of Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel and increased room rates.

Despite exceeding operating profit forecasts for the first half, Oriental Land maintained its full-year earnings forecast for FY226, anticipating net sales of 693,352 million yen and an operating profit of 160,000 million yen, citing the volume zone of theme park attendance in the third quarter and beyond as a factor. The company also announced an organizational restructuring to enhance efficiency and accelerate medium- to long-term growth as part of its 2035 Long-term Management Strategy.

In a significant subsequent event, Oriental Land issued unsecured straight bonds totaling 100 billion yen, comprising three series with redemption dates ranging from 2030 to 2035 and interest rates from 1.443% to 2.091%. These funds are earmarked for capital investment. Additionally, the company is updating its ESG materiality KPIs for October 2025, focusing on areas like recycling-oriented society and climate change, with specific targets for GHG emissions reduction and sustainable resource management.
