TEPCO gets JPY 66 bn in grants for nuclear accident compensation

Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings (TEPCO) announced on October 22, 2025, that it received JPY 66 bn in grants from the Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Corporation (NDF). This funding, approved on March 17, 2025, under the Special Business Plan, brings the total NDF grants received to JPY 11 trillion 435.9 bn.

The latest disbursement marks the 162nd funding request, necessitated as TEPCO anticipates compensation payouts by the end of November 2025 will exceed the cumulative indemnity payments of JPY 188.9 bn and prior NDF grants. TEPCO reaffirmed its commitment to providing compassionate compensation to all affected by the nuclear accident.
