Nishimatsuya Chain sees mixed October sales amid warm weather

Nishimatsuya Chain Co. Ltd. reported its monthly sales for October 2025, with overall net sales for all stores showing a 100.2% year-on-year change. However, existing stores experienced a decline to 95.6%, attributed to decreased sales of autumn and winter clothing during a series of hot days. Despite this, year-to-date net sales for all stores (February 21, 2025 – October 20, 2025) remained positive at 103.3%, and existing stores were at 100.0%.

The company's customer numbers also saw varied performance, with all stores reporting a 102.0% change year-on-year for October, while existing stores were down to 97.1%. Sales per customer for existing stores in October reached 98.5%, contributing to a year-to-date figure of 102.8%.

Nishimatsuya Chain opened 5 new stores in October and closed 6, resulting in a total of 1,167 stores as of October 20, 2025. For the current fiscal year FY2/2026, the company has opened 38 stores and closed 16 stores to date.
