Universal Entertainment sells AI subsidiary Exiis-Lab to Cyberlinks

Universal Entertainment Corporation announced the sale of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Exiis-Lab Co., Ltd., to Cyberlinks Co., Ltd. for 5 million yen. This transaction, effective November 28, 2025, will make Exiis-Lab a fully owned subsidiary of Cyberlinks. The acquisition is a strategic move for Cyberlinks to enhance its Government Cloud Business by integrating Exiis-Lab's AI and natural language processing technology into Synergy Co., Ltd.'s municipal document management system, "ActiveCity."

Following the acquisition, Exiis-Lab will undergo an absorption-type merger with Synergy Co., Ltd., with Synergy as the surviving entity and Exiis-Lab dissolving, effective December 1, 2025. This integration aims to improve document search efficiency and contribute to streamlining municipal operations and resident services.

Universal Entertainment initiated this divestment as part of a new management structure launched in March 2025, focusing on structural reforms and enhancing growth and profitability through resource selection and concentration. The company expects the impact of this share acquisition and subsequent merger on its December 2025 fiscal year financial results to be minor.
