Star-Seeds acquires Fukuoka battery storage project, expanding renewable energy goals

Star-Seeds Corporation announced on October 17, 2025, that its board approved the acquisition of land, facilities, and electricity interconnection rights for a grid-scale battery storage power plant in Fukuoka Prefecture from Daisan Co., Ltd. This move aligns with Star-Seeds' goal to develop and operate 50 battery storage power plants nationwide with a total output of 100MW (400MWh capacity) by fiscal year 2027. This acquisition follows earlier purchases of similar assets in Wakayama and Aichi prefectures.

The acquired project, named Chikushino Battery Storage Power Plant, is located at 713 Hara, Chikushino-shi, Fukuoka, and has a maximum receiving capacity of 1890.0kW. Kyushu Electric Power Transmission and Distribution Co., Inc. will be the interconnection power company. Interconnection is expected by March 10, 2026, with operation commencing on April 30, 2026.

The acquisition cost is undisclosed but is stated to be greater than 10% of Star-Seeds' consolidated net sales from the previous fiscal year (JPY511 million), with payment via bank transfer. The company does not anticipate any immediate impact on sales or ordinary profit from this acquisition in the current fiscal year.
