Sugi Holdings reports strong September sales, expands store network

Sugi Holdings Co., Ltd. announced robust performance in its September 2025 Monthly Sales Bulletin, with existing-store sales for Sugi Pharmacy increasing by 5.8% year-over-year. This growth was driven by a 3.7% increase in the drugstore business (product sales) and a substantial 13.5% rise in the prescription business. On an all-store basis, Sugi Pharmacy’s total sales grew by 9.3%, with the drugstore business up 7.2% and prescription business up 14.6%.

In September 2025, Sugi Holdings expanded its network by opening 9 new stores and closing 4, bringing the total number of Sugi Pharmacy Group stores to 2,283 by the end of the month. Key new openings include Sugi Pharmacy Omama in Gunma and Sugi Pharmacy Ogakiinter in Gifu. The number of stores in the Kanto region increased by 20 to 593, while the Chubu region saw an increase of 18 stores, reaching 643.

The company’s total store count as of September 2025 stands at 2,283, up from 2,185 at the end of February 2025, reflecting a net increase of 64 stores. This expansion primarily reflects growth in the drugstore and dispensing pharmacy segments across various regions, particularly Hokkaido/Tohoku and Kansai.
