Seven & I Holdings sees net income surge 133% in second quarter

Seven & I Holdings reported consolidated revenues from operations of 5,616,637 million yen for the six months ended August 31, 2025, a decrease of 6.9% year-on-year. Despite this, operating income increased by 11.4% to 208,388 million yen, and ordinary income rose by 11.5% to 186,436 million yen. Net income attributable to owners of parent saw a substantial increase of 133.1% to 121,802 million yen, resulting in EPS of 47.83 yen, up from 20.09 yen in the prior year. This profit growth was attributed to an increase in operating income from Superstore and Overseas Convenience Store operations, alongside a decrease in special losses due to the completion of Group's Structure Reforms.

The company has revised its full-year consolidated forecast for the fiscal year ending February 28, 2026. Revenues from operations are now projected at 10,560,000 million yen (a downward revision of 162,000 million yen), while operating income is forecast at 404,000 million yen (a downward revision of 20,000 million yen). However, net income attributable to owners of parent is revised upwards by 10,000 million yen to 265,000 million yen, with EPS projected at 107.66 yen. The revision reflects the impact of deconsolidation of Seven Bank, Ltd. and the SST Business Group in the first half of FY2026.

Key strategic initiatives for the period include enhancing fresh food offerings, strengthening the store network, expanding 7NOW services, and transforming business and profit structures. The company also announced an interim dividend of 25.0 yen per share, with an effective date of November 14, 2025, aligning with its progressive dividend policy.
