Air Water establishes special committee amid accounting misconduct probe

Air Water Inc. has launched a special investigating committee following the discovery of inappropriate inventory accounting practices, specifically the deferral of loss recognition, at its consolidated subsidiary, Nippon Helium Inc., initially identified in July 2025. Subsequent internal investigations in September revealed similar issues at Air Water Ecoroca Inc., Air Water Mechatronics Inc., and within its Plant Gas Division. These issues were also flagged by the company's accounting auditor.

The committee, comprising external experts Masatoshi Ohara (chairperson), Wataru Nakamori, and Mamoru Honda, will conduct a broad and deep investigation into the facts, identify similar cases, assess financial impact, and recommend recurrence prevention measures. This decision stems from the potential involvement of officers and employees and the need for independent oversight.

Consequently, Air Water has postponed the announcement of its second-quarter financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2026, originally scheduled for November 14, 2025, due to the time required for the committee's investigation. The company pledges full cooperation and will disclose further progress and findings promptly.
