Japan Post faces regulatory action over roll call deficiencies

Japan Post Co., Ltd. reported significant deficiencies in its roll call operations to regulators in April 2025, leading to a special audit by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. This resulted in the revocation of its license for general motor truck transportation business on June 25, 2025. Subsequently, on October 1, 2025, 111 post offices received notifications of administrative dispositions concerning their light vehicles.

Despite these actions, Japan Post asserts that there is no truth to claims of mail delivery disruptions or the discontinuation of Yu-Pack services. The company states it will take appropriate measures to ensure continued reliable service, even as some light vehicles at affected post offices become unavailable during the disposition period.
