Kosaido expands funeral business with two strategic acquisitions

Kosaido Holdings has announced the acquisition of shares in Yokohama Seien Co., Ltd. and Ceremolife Co., Ltd., both aimed at expanding its funeral service operations in the northern Kanagawa area. These acquisitions, approved on September 30, 2025, will increase Kosaido's total funeral venue count to over 70, supporting its goal of 6,500 funeral services by March 2028.

Yokohama Seien operates funeral halls and indoor grave sites. Kosaido will acquire 200 common shares for 2,100 million yen, plus an estimated 19 million yen in advisory fees, totaling 2,119 million yen. Ceremolife, which also provides funeral services, will be acquired for 1 yen per share for 1,000 shares, with advisory fees estimated at 3 million yen, totaling 3,000,001 yen.

Despite Ceremolife's current liabilities exceeding assets, Kosaido plans a 300 million yen capital injection post-acquisition. The company anticipates Ceremolife's financial recovery through Kosaido's operational expertise. Both share transfers are scheduled for November 1, 2025.
