France Bed Holdings to consolidate production, reorganize subsidiaries

France Bed Holdings Co., Ltd. announced on September 26, 2025, a structural reform to consolidate and reorganize its production bases within the home furnishings and health sectors. This initiative is part of a broader strategy, outlined in the company’s medium-term management plan (FY2025-FY2027), to concentrate resources on the senior-care business amid a declining domestic furniture and interior market. The goal is to strengthen the company’s revenue base by consolidating production and reorganizing subsidiaries.

Specifically, the manufacturing of wooden products, including bed frames, currently produced by consolidated subsidiary France Bed Furniture Co., Ltd. at both the Tohoku Plant (Shirakawa City, Fukushima Prefecture) and the Saga Plant (Kamimine Town, Saga Prefecture), will be consolidated at the Saga Plant. Following this consolidation, the Tohoku Plant will close by the end of June 2026. Employees from the Tohoku Plant will be relocated to other group locations or offered re-employment support.

Effective July 1, 2026, France Bed Furniture Co., Ltd., operating as a single plant structure, will be absorbed into France Bed Co., Ltd. The financial impact of this restructuring is currently under examination and will be disclosed once finalized.
