TEPCO receives 21.1 bn yen in nuclear damage compensation grants

Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings announced today, September 25, 2025, that it has received 21.1 billion yen in grants from the Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Corporation (NDF). This funding is in accordance with the Special Business Plan, which was modified and approved on March 17, 2025, aimed at assisting with the costs associated with the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident.

This latest grant brings the total financial assistance received by TEPCO to 188.9 billion yen in indemnity payments under nuclear damage compensation law, and 11 trillion 414.8 billion yen in grants from the NDF. TEPCO requested this 161st round of funding as the projected compensation payments by the end of October 2025 are expected to exceed the cumulative amounts received to date.

TEPCO reiterated its commitment to fully compensating all individuals affected by the nuclear accident, emphasizing its dedication to working with compassion and understanding.
