Metaplanet's largest shareholder changes as Capital Research increases stake

Metaplanet announced a change in its largest shareholder, effective September 17, 2025. Capital Research and Management Company, an investment advisory firm, has emerged as the new top shareholder. This change was confirmed via a large shareholding report filed with the Kanto Local Finance Bureau on September 25, 2025.

Prior to the change, as of August 22, 2025, Capital Research and Management Company held 543,610 voting rights, representing 8.31% of the total, ranking as the third-largest shareholder. Following the change on September 17, 2025, their ownership increased to 1,299,185 voting rights, or 11.39%, making them the new largest shareholder.

Concurrently, NATIONAL FINANCIAL SERVICES LLC, previously the largest shareholder with 844,054 voting rights (12.90%) as of June 30, 2025, has become the second-largest shareholder, with their stake decreasing to 7.40% on September 17, 2025. The total voting rights outstanding for Metaplanet also increased from 6,542,394 as of June 30, 2025, to 11,404,992 as of September 16, 2025.
