Renova's Omaezaki biomass plant targets mid-October restart after parts delay

Renova's consolidated subsidiary, Omaezaki Port Biomass Energy LLC, which operates the Omaezaki Port biomass power plant, has revised its operational restart schedule. While initial plans aimed for a September 2025 resumption, delays in procuring necessary parts have pushed the restart to mid-October 2025.

Crucially, the main processes of the plant's previously scheduled January 2026 regular inspection have been completed during the current maintenance and repair period. This eliminates the need for the January 2026 inspection, with the next scheduled for the following fiscal year. This strategic adjustment is expected to minimize the reduction in the plant's revenue for the current fiscal year (ending March 2026).

Despite an expected decrease in sales revenue due to the operational suspension, Renova anticipates a minor impact on its current fiscal year (ending March 2026) performance. This is attributed to the completion of the regular inspection, planned outage buffers factored into the overall biomass business outlook, increased revenue from lower spot fuel prices, and new business development fees from multiple storage projects not included in the initial consolidated earnings forecast.
