Advanex settles Marelli lawsuit, anticipates extraordinary loss

Advanex has reached a settlement with Marelli Corporation in a lawsuit that began with a first-instance judgment on March 19, 2025. The Yokohama District Court had previously ordered Advanex to pay JPY 658.8 million, half of the plaintiff's claimed amount. Following appeals by both parties, the Tokyo High Court proposed a settlement, which Advanex accepted after considering the overall impact on its business.

Under the terms of the settlement, Advanex will pay JPY 200 million as a settlement amount to Marelli, which in turn will waive all other claims against Advanex. The specifics of the settlement remain confidential due to non-disclosure obligations.

Advanex anticipates recording an extraordinary loss of JPY 100 million in its Q2 FY2026 earnings. This figure represents the difference between the provision for litigation losses recorded in FY2025 and the actual settlement payment. Advanex stated that there are no changes to the full-year consolidated earnings forecast for FY2026, as announced on August 8, 2025.
