Sanyo Denki to build new Vietnam plant for high-performance products

Sanyo Denki announced on September 19, 2025, a resolution by its Board of Directors to construct a new factory in Hung Yen Province, Vietnam. This strategic expansion aims to bolster the company's competitive edge, following existing facilities in Japan and the Philippines. The new plant will produce cooling fans, stepping motors, and servo motors, with planned monthly capacities of approximately 500,000 cooling fans, 50,000 stepping motors, and 5,000 servo motors.

The decision aligns with the company's "Break the Shell" 9th Medium-Term Management Plan, focusing on delivering high-quality products and services amid surging demand for high-performance servers, telecommunications equipment, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, robots, and other precision machinery. The Vietnam facility will have a site area of 47,800 m² and a total floor area of 18,000 m², structured as a three-story steel frame building.

Construction is slated to begin in September 2026, with operations expected to commence in July 2027. The total investment for the new factory is approximately JPY7.0 billion. Sanyo Denki anticipates a minor impact on its consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2026.
