Japan Display delays AutoTech spin-off until April 2026

Japan Display announced today that the effective date for the establishment of its new subsidiary, AutoTech Corporation, has been postponed. Originally slated for October 1, 2025, the company has now decided to push the effective date to April 1, 2026. This decision was made at a board of directors meeting held today. The establishment of AutoTech, which will inherit the rights and obligations related to Japan Display's automotive display business, was initially disclosed on May 15, 2025.

The postponement stems from careful consideration of the progress in discussions with customers and business partners, as well as the need for organizational adjustments related to structural reforms. The company determined that delaying the split was necessary to ensure its successful implementation. Shareholder approval for this company split was secured at the 23rd ordinary general meeting of shareholders and the class meeting of shareholders for common stock, both held on June 21, 2025.

Regarding the impact on consolidated financial performance, Japan Display is currently assessing how the delay will affect its consolidated results for the fiscal year ending March 2026. Any material developments will be disclosed promptly.
