Mitsubishi Electric introduces next-stage career support program for employees

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation revealed a special "Next-Stage Support Program" for employees in Japan. This initiative aims to acknowledge employee contributions and advance the company's corporate transformation strategy by balancing its human resource structure and offering growth opportunities for younger staff.

Eligible employees aged 53 or older with three or more years of service as of March 15, 2026, can apply between December 15, 2025, and January 9, 2026. Participants will receive increased retirement settlements—a special addition to their regular severance pay for a limited period—and re-employment support from an external specialist firm for eligible regular employees.

The program comes after Mitsubishi Electric Group achieved record-high consolidated revenue and operating profit in the fiscal year ended March 2025, with revenue reaching JPY 5,521.7 billion. The company seeks to transform into an "Innovative Company" creating new value and is streamlining its business model and management structure. While there is no cap on applicants, the overall financial impact on consolidated results for the fiscal year ending March 2026 cannot yet be determined, thus the financial forecast remains unchanged. Updates will be provided once the financial impact is clear. Separately, Mitsubishi Electric Group companies will optimize their human resource structures in line with their specific business environments and regulatory contexts.
