Sekisui House to unify US homebuilding subsidiaries under new brand

Sekisui House announced a reorganization of its US homebuilding subsidiaries, consolidating four group builders into "One Company" and renaming M.D.C. Holdings, Inc. to SEKISUI HOUSE U.S., Inc. MDC, acquired in April 2024, will become the substantive controlling company, integrating Woodside Homes Company, LLC, Holt Group Holdings, LLC, and Chesmar Holdings, LLC under its umbrella. This move aims to leverage MDC's platform, unify strategies, and accelerate the transfer of Sekisui House technology in the US market. The reorganization is phased, with the initial phase scheduled for October-December 2025 and the second for January 2026, when the new structure will begin operating.

The company's latest financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending January 2026 show consolidated net sales of JPY 2,015,408 million, up 8.4% year-over-year. Operating profit was JPY 155,473 million, a 1.1% decrease, while ordinary profit reached JPY 136,600 million, down 7.2%. The net profit attributable to parent company shareholders was JPY 101,603 million, a decrease of 17.4%. Despite the slight dip in profit, the company’s full-year forecast for net sales remains at JPY 4,331,000 million, with a projected net profit of JPY 232,000 million.
