Arealink surpasses 120,000 storage units, driven by strong August growth

Arealink Co., Ltd. announced its monthly performance for August 2025, with total units in operation reaching 121,070. This marks a substantial increase from 97,885 units in December 2020. The overall utilization rate for August 2025 stood at 82.10%, with existing facilities maintaining 89.17% and newly opened facilities achieving 50.66%.

For August 2025, Arealink opened 49 new facilities, totaling 1,703 units. This included 29 self-owned facilities with 1,015 units and 20 partner-system facilities comprising 688 units across prefectures such as Kanagawa, Nara, and Tokyo. The company also reported 14 facility closures, totaling 471 units, in areas including Hyogo, Fukuoka, and Tokyo.

Arealink's year-to-date new unit openings for 2025 reached 12,094 units (11,922 new, 172 existing expansions) against a plan of 15,000 units. The company's consistent expansion and solid utilization rates underscore its sustained growth in the self-storage market.
