Sky Perfect JSAT reports mixed August subscriber growth

Sky Perfect JSAT Holdings Inc. reported its subscription data as of August 31, 2025, showing a cumulative total of 2,561,338 "SKY PerfecTV!" subscribers, representing a net decrease of 12,311 for the month. This decline was driven by both "SKY PerfecTV!" (110-degree east longitude satellite broadcasts), which saw a net decrease of 7,964 subscribers to a cumulative total of 1,937,383, and "Premium Service," which fell by 4,347 subscribers to a cumulative total of 623,955. The monthly churn rates for "SKY PerfecTV!" and "Premium Service" were 2.1% and 0.9%, respectively.

In contrast, the optical fiber-based re-transmission service demonstrated robust growth, with 20,079 new subscribers added against 11,979 churns, resulting in a net increase of 8,100 households for August 2025. This brought the cumulative total for this service to 2,904,663 subscribing households, with a notably low monthly churn rate of 0.4%. The company's total number of contractors for "SKY PerfecTV!" also decreased by 11,143, reaching a cumulative total of 1,974,829, with a monthly churn rate of 2.0%.
