Shibaura Mechatronics allies with Photo electron Soul for e-beam system advancement

Shibaura Mechatronics Corporation has entered into a capital and business alliance with Photo electron Soul Inc. (PeS) to advance the development and market presence of PeS's semiconductor photocathode e-beam system. As part of this alliance, Shibaura Mechatronics will undertake new shares issued by PeS through a third-party allotment, contributing to PeS's planned capital raise of JPY 1 billion. The agreement, announced on August 28, 2025, aims to leverage Shibaura Mechatronics' expertise in semiconductor manufacturing equipment and PeS's unique e-beam technologies to address growing market needs.

The business alliance will focus on manufacturing and maintenance services for the E-beam System, with Shibaura Eletec Corporation, a subsidiary, also participating in maintenance. PeS, established on July 1, 2015, specializes in research, development, manufacturing, and sales of semiconductor photocathode e-beam systems, with a capital of JPY 100 million. This collaboration aligns with Shibaura Mechatronics' "Shibaura Vision 2033" to achieve consolidated net sales of JPY 100 billion and a ROS of 20% or higher.

Shibaura Mechatronics anticipates a minimal impact on its consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, with forecasts of JPY 80 billion in net sales and JPY 7.5 billion in net income attributable to owners of parent. The agreement is scheduled to be concluded on August 29, 2025, with payment due by September 25, 2025.
