Nippon Carbon’s Toyama plant hit by early morning fire

Nippon Carbon Co., Ltd. announced a fire incident at its Toyama factory in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, at approximately 7:15 AM on Friday, August 29, 2025. The company extended a deep apology for the significant inconvenience and concern caused to local residents, shareholders, business partners, and related organizations.

The fire occurred at the graphitization furnace equipment within the Toyama factory. While there were no human casualties, the extent of property damage is currently under investigation.
