Lion Corporation to establish new subsidiary in India for market expansion

Lion Corporation, a prominent Japanese consumer goods company, announced its decision to establish Lion India Private Limited (tentative), a wholly-owned consolidated subsidiary in Gurugram City, Haryana State, Republic of India. The decision, made at a Board of Directors meeting on August 29, 2025, aligns with the Lion Group's Vision2030 2nd STAGE medium-term management plan, which emphasizes overseas growth. The new company, with a capital of 400 million INR, is tentatively scheduled for establishment in January 2026 and aims to begin operations in October 2026.

Tomomi Takai will serve as the representative of the new entity, which will manufacture and sell a range of products including toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, detergent, haircare, skincare, and pharmaceutical products. Initially, the company will focus on online marketing of the KODOMO brand for baby and children's oral healthcare and skincare. This strategic move targets India's growing middle-income population and increasing health awareness, where consumers are shifting towards quality and added-value products.

Lion Corporation anticipates a minor impact on its consolidated results for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2025, from this establishment. The company views India, projected to be Asia's second-largest economy by 2027 and the world's most populous nation, as a crucial market where its strengths in product development and marketing can be fully utilized to promote better habits and contribute to the health of the Indian people.
