Mitsubishi Corporation considers options for offshore wind projects

On August 27, 2025, Mitsubishi Corporation issued a statement addressing recent media reports concerning its offshore wind power generation business. The reports suggested that Mitsubishi Shoji Offshore Wind Corporation, a subsidiary, was adjusting towards withdrawing from offshore wind power generation projects where it acts as the lead developer.

Mitsubishi Corporation clarified that while it is currently considering all possible options, including withdrawal, for the projects located off Noshiro City, Mitane Town, and Oga City in Akita Prefecture, off Yurihonjo City in Akita Prefecture, and off Choshi City in Chiba Prefecture (three sea areas), no decision has been made as of the current date. The company is actively examining various alternatives.

The statement was issued by Mitsubishi Corporation's representative director and president, Katsuya Nakanishi, with inquiries directed to Yasuji Hirayama, leader of the public relations department's press team.
