S&B Foods sweetens shareholder benefits to encourage long-term holding

S&B Foods Co. has announced changes to its shareholder benefit program, effective from the March 31, 2026 record date. The revisions are designed to enhance the attractiveness of the company’s shares and incentivize long-term ownership among a broader base of shareholders.

Under the updated program, shareholders owning 100 to 499 shares for half a year to less than three years will receive 1,000 yen worth of company products, while those holding for three years or more will receive 2,000 yen worth. This represents an increase for those in the three-year-plus category, who previously received 2,000 yen in products for the same holding period but at a lower share threshold. A significant change is the introduction of a new tier for shareholders owning 500 shares or more. These shareholders will now receive 2,000 yen worth of products for holding shares for half a year to less than three years, and 4,000 yen worth for holding shares for three years or more. Previously, the maximum benefit was 2,000 yen regardless of holding duration beyond three years for 100 shares or more.

The definition of "continuous ownership" for half a year or more requires the shareholder to be listed on the shareholder register on both the March 31 and September 30 record dates with the same shareholder number, holding 100 shares or more consecutively at least twice. For "three years or more" of continuous ownership, the requirement is to be listed on both record dates with the same shareholder number, holding 100 shares or more consecutively at least seven times. Any shares acquired during the continuous ownership period will not reset the holding duration. The changes will be implemented for the shareholder benefits applicable to shareholders on the March 31, 2026, record date. Benefits for the September 30, 2025, record date will still be distributed under the old program.
