Shimano nears settlement in US bicycle components lawsuit

Shimano announced preliminary court approval for a settlement agreement in a California federal court lawsuit targeting its subsidiary Shimano North America Holding and others.

The lawsuit concerns Shimano's road bike rear 11-speed compatible Hollowtech II cranks sold in the United States. The preliminary approval was issued on July 29, 2025.

While Shimano finds the preliminary settlement acceptable, final court approval has not yet been obtained. The company anticipates the court's final decision will be made in early 2026.

Settlement details are currently withheld due to the ongoing approval process.
