Bandai Namco reports HK$500m embezzlement at Hong Kong subsidiary

Bandai Namco Holdings announced a former employee at its Hong Kong logistics subsidiary misappropriated approximately HK$500 million between 2021 and 2023. The employee was arrested in January 2024, with investigations ongoing and a civil lawsuit filed in March.

The company dismissed the employee and penalized three directors at the Hong Kong subsidiary. Four directors at parent company Bandai Logipal had remuneration cut by 30% for three months, with two additional directors facing 15% cuts.

Bandai Namco said the financial impact on its fiscal year ending March 2026 is expected to be minimal.
