Bandai Namco hit by 500m yen employee fraud

Bandai Namco Holdings disclosed that a former employee of its Hong Kong subsidiary misappropriated approximately 500 million yen between 2021 and 2023.

The employee at BANDAI LOGIPAL (H.K.) LTD conspired with business partners in the scheme. Following an internal investigation, the employee was arrested on January 16, 2024, and dismissed the same day.

The subsidiary has commenced civil proceedings against the former employee. Three directors at the Hong Kong unit faced disciplinary measures, while six officers at the parent logistics company had their pay cut by 15-30% for three months.

Bandai Namco expects minimal impact on its financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2026.
