Mochida Pharmaceutical continues takeover defense, changes special committee

Mochida Pharmaceutical (TSE:4534) announced the continuation of its measures to counter large-scale acquisitions, also known as a takeover defense policy. Shareholders approved the policy continuation at the company's 87th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders. In conjunction with this approval, Mochida Pharmaceutical also announced changes to the members of its special committee, which is tasked with evaluating any potential takeover bids. The updated committee includes Shigeaki Yoshikawa, Sanae Tanaka, and Yoshifumi Miyata. The changes to the committee membership reflect recent shifts in the company's executive structure following the shareholders' meeting.
