Nihon Nohyaku appeals damages claim against subsidiary SNB

Nihon Nohyaku Co., Ltd. (TSE:4997) announced today that it will appeal a court judgment against its consolidated subsidiary, Sipcam Nichino Brasil S.A. (SNB). The lawsuit, filed by FMC QUÍMICA DO BRASIL LTDA. (FMC), stems from a 2023 incident involving a robbery at SNB during which products SNB was packaging under a contract with FMC were stolen. On May 14, 2025, the court ordered SNB to pay BRL 45 million, plus interest and legal costs. Nihon Nohyaku's management has decided to appeal, citing differences in opinion regarding contractual liabilities. While the litigation could potentially impact the company's financial position, the extent of the impact remains uncertain. Nihon Nohyaku has pledged to promptly disclose any material developments.
