Odakyu Electric Railway reports steady passenger growth in May

Odakyu Electric Railway (TSE:9007) announced its May 2025 monthly operating results, indicating steady growth in its railway business. Total passenger numbers reached 62.2 million, a 1.4% increase year-over-year, with both commuter and non-commuter segments contributing. Railway transportation revenue totaled JPY10.07 billion, up 1.3% from the previous year. Odakyu Department Store sales experienced mixed results, with Shinjuku Store sales declining by 8.1% while Machida Store sales increased by 0.4%. Odakyu Shoji's store division saw a 3.5% increase in sales at existing stores. Hotel occupancy rates remained strong, particularly at Hotel Century Southern Tower (92.9%) and Hakone Yutowa (84.6%). Hakone Highland Hotel has been closed for renovation since May 7, 2025. The figures are preliminary and may differ from final results.
