Kobe Bussan announces new in-house distribution center construction

Kobe Bussan Co., Ltd. announced its decision to build a new in-house distribution center, as resolved at a Board of Directors' meeting on June 20, 2025. Located in Funabashi-shi, Chiba, the center aims to consolidate distribution operations in the Kanto area and boost operational capacity. The facility, tentatively named Funabashi Distribution Center, will span approximately 19,000 square meters and feature a four-story steel-framed structure with frozen, refrigerated, and cool storage capabilities. The total investment is projected at JPY15,000 million, funded by the company's own resources. Construction is slated to begin in October 2026, with completion expected by August 2028 and operations commencing in January 2029. Kobe Bussan anticipates annual logistics cost reductions of approximately JPY1.5 billion upon the center's opening, contributing to enhanced price competitiveness and customer satisfaction. The company clarified that the new center's launch will not impact consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending October 31, 2025.
