Harmonic Drive Systems' FY25 profit drops amid sluggish sales

Harmonic Drive Systems Inc. (TSE:6324) announced its consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025, reporting a profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥3,473 million, a significant decrease compared to the previous year's loss of ¥24,806 million. Net sales saw a slight decrease, falling 0.3% year-on-year to ¥55,645 million. Operating profit experienced a substantial drop, decreasing by 94.4% to ¥6 million. Despite the drop in operating profit, the company was able to return to profitability, recording ¥5,868 million in extraordinary income, primarily from the sale of investment securities.
