Toho dissolves subsidiary Kansai Kyouei Kougyo after theater closure

Toho Co., Ltd. announced the dissolution of Kansai Kyouei Kougyo Co., Ltd. (KKK), effective today, May 20, 2025. The decision follows the closure of the "Matsue Toho Five" movie theater, managed by KKK, on January 12, 2025. KKK, established in February 1965 with a share capital of JPY 10 million, operated movie theaters distributed by Toho. Toho held 100% ownership of KKK, and five directors from Toho and other consolidated subsidiaries served concurrently as directors of KKK. KKK's financial performance in FY 2/2025 showed net assets of JPY 200 million, total assets of JPY 272 million, and net sales of JPY 204 million, with an operating loss of JPY (41) million. The dissolution is scheduled for completion in September 2025 after a resolution at the general meeting of shareholders. Toho anticipates a negligible impact on its consolidated financial forecasts as a result of this dissolution.
