Takashimaya appoints Tomoko Sugiyama as representative director

Takashimaya Company, Limited (TSE:8233) announced the appointment of Tomoko Sugiyama as a Representative Director, effective May 20, 2025. This decision was formalized during a Board of Directors' meeting. Sugiyama, previously a Managing Executive Officer and General Manager of General Affairs Headquarters, will now also manage the Secretariat Office in her new role. She brings extensive experience within the company, having joined in April 1990. Past roles include General Manager positions within the Children's Wear Information Device & Hobbies Division and the Legal Affairs and Risk Management Office. As of the announcement, Sugiyama holds 8,100 shares of Takashimaya stock. The change aims to enable Takashimaya to respond rapidly to market changes and strengthen its earnings under a new management structure.
