Mitsui Chemicals FY2024 results miss previous year's targets

Mitsui Chemicals (TSE:4183) has reported a decline in its non-consolidated financial results for FY2024 compared to the previous fiscal year. Sales Revenue increased to JPY888,431 million from JPY867,033 million. However, Operating Income declined significantly to JPY(15,676) million from JPY(5,519) million. Ordinary Income also decreased to JPY19,753 million from JPY37,671 million, and Net Income fell to JPY25,566 million from JPY38,322 million. Consequently, Net Income per Share dropped to JPY135.24 from JPY201.56. The company attributes the shortfall in ordinary income primarily to a decline in operating income and a decrease in dividend income, with net income also impacted by the drop in ordinary income.
