SoftBank's LY Corp to increase capital in LINE Bank Taiwan

** SoftBank Group Corp (SBG) [TSE:9984] announced that its subsidiary, LY Corporation, has decided to increase the capital of LINE Bank Taiwan Limited (LBT), through its subsidiaries LINE Financial Corporation (LFC) and LINE Financial Taiwan Limited (LFT). LBT, currently an equity method associate of LY, is expected to become a subsidiary and specified subsidiary of SBG following this capital injection. LY will make an additional investment aimed at promoting LBT’s banking services in Taiwan and strengthening collaboration within the LY Group. The investment will involve LY acquiring 274,500,000 shares in LBT, amounting to TWD2.745 billion, resulting in a voting rights increase from 49.90% to 51.15%. As a result, LBT will become a specified subsidiary of SBG as the amount of LBT's capital will be equivalent to at least 10% of SBG's capital. The impact on SBG's consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, is expected to be minor.
