Softbank's LY Corp increases stake in LINE Bank Taiwan

Softbank Corp (TSE:9434) announced today that LINE Bank Taiwan Limited (LBT) is expected to become a specified subsidiary as LY Corporation (LY) increases its investment. LY, through its consolidated subsidiaries LINE Financial Corporation and LINE Financial Taiwan Limited (LFT), will execute a capital increase in LBT. The investment aims to promote LINE Bank's services in Taiwan and strengthen collaboration within the LY Group. The total investment amount will be TWD2.745 billion, acquiring 274,500,000 shares. Post-investment, LY will hold 1,023,000,000 shares, representing 51.15% of voting rights. The change is expected to occur in June 2025, subject to regulatory approvals. Softbank anticipates a minor impact on its consolidated financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026.
