Sharp in talks with KDDI to transfer LCD panel assets

Sharp Corporation (TSE:6753) has acknowledged news reports concerning a potential transfer agreement with KDDI Corporation regarding its LCD panel plant. While Sharp confirms ongoing discussions with KDDI about transferring part of its fixed assets, including land and buildings, related to the LCD panel plant, these discussions are still preliminary, and no decisions have been finalized. These discussions stem from the Memorandum of Understanding regarding AI Data Center announced on December 9, 2024. Sharp will promptly disclose any decisions made that necessitate disclosure.
